Online Course Showcase: Tech for Teachers
This Fall 2014 course, Technology for Educators, is being developed and run concurrently for the Marlboro School of Graduate and Professional Studies' Social Justice MAT program. It is a 30-hour course, designed to help pre-service teachers learn the basics of classroom technology integration in Google Apps for Education environments. My role was to redesign the course to cover a wider range of topics with choice depending on student interest and aptitude, while piloting Google Classroom.
The course had a separate Learning Content Management System, so that students would have access to the information after the course ended, and to take advantage of Drupal's many options for the custom display of multimedia. The "Learn / Apply / More" scheme had been present in a previous course iteration, but in long, daunting pages. Moving to a page with three tabs made the content more accessible.
